Bud Davis

Bud Davis,  76, of Meeker, OK died Monday, April 17, 2017 in an Oklahoma City hospital.Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at  Liberty Baptist Church with Phil Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.Bud was born August 23, 1940 in Shawnee, OK to Theodore R. & Allie A. (Badley) Davis.  In 1959 he graduated from Shawnee High School, and was a member of the National Honor Society.  He attended St. Gregory’s and Seminole College.He served in the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged. He retired after 22 years at Shawnee Police Department.  From there he was Police Chief at Maud, then serving 4 years as Pottawatomie County Sheriff, as well as working for Absentee Shawnee.  He was a member of the Sheriff's Association and a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.    Bud is survived by his wife: Bonnie; 5 Daughters & 4 Sons-in-Law: Tamara & Richard Wakeman, Janet & Johnny Brown, Terri & Ron Reser, Victoria Davis, and Tami & Julius Hutson; 15 Grandkids, numerous great-grandkids, 1 brother & sister-in-law, and nieces & nephews.
