Carol Ann Horton

Former Shawnee resident Carol Ann (Way) Horton, 85, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Walker Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Carol was born February 13, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Grandville Frankie Way and Lura Anna (Coffey) Way. She graduated from Central High School in OKC.  She married Howard Horton on May 26, 1978. Carol retired from Western Electric after 38 years. 

She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, ceramics, gardening, painting, being outdoors, and her favorite color was purple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Melvin "Bo" Leroy Williams, Jr., siblings: Elzia Way, Rosalie Spencer, Phyllis Way, and Dottie Darasich. 

Survivors include a son: Marvin Williams and wife Carol of Goldsby, 2 step-daughters: Debbie Page and husband Kerry of OKC and Darlene Stanhouse and husband John of Choctaw, a granddaughter: Renee Lairson and husband Brandon of Washington, OK, and a great granddaughter Olivia Lairson, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
