Caroline was born on October 16, 1944 in Stockton, California to her parents, Leonard John and Ola Mae Hurst. Her family moved to Oklahoma shortly after, and she was raised in Seminole, Oklahoma. Caroline met her future husband, Willard Hail, when the pair were only 12 years old. They attended Varnum High School where Caroline was a cheerleader. Willard took Caroline on their first date to the movie theater in downtown Shawnee and was chaperoned by Willard's sister, Wilberta and her husband. The two became inseparable and were joined in marriage on July 7, 1961 in Seminole.
Caroline was quite an artist and loved to paint and draw. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed all sorts of wonderful things for her family and friends. Willard and Caroline traveled immensely and lived in an RV for 5 years in search of new and fun adventures. Their travels led them to Switzerland, Niagara Falls, and New York City where she was in awe of how massive the Statue of Liberty was up close. Visiting nine countries and 45 states gave her and Willard countless memories and stories that will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her husband of (almost) 60 years, Willard Hail of Shawnee, son, Michael Hail and wife Diana of Chicago, son, Charles Hail and wife Bambi of California, daughter, Caroline Bruffett of Jerome, Idaho, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ola Hurst and her brothers, John and Jim Hurst.
