Surrounded by his family, Cecil Lee Sadler, 80, of Oklahoma City passed from this life to begin his eternal life with Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Baptist Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at University Baptist Church in Shawnee with Pastor Jimmy Jackson, of Heritage Baptist Church, OKC, officiating. Burial will follow in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Cecil was born March 15, 1938 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Cecil Ray & Anna Mae (Brown) Sadler. From 1946-1951 he was at the Baptist Children’s Home and was a member of the First Baptist Church, OKC. He attended John Marshall School from 5th – 8th grade. He returned to Guthrie where he was active in the youth department of the First Baptist Church, as well as ROTC, and was a 1957 graduate. He served in the USAF from 1957-1961, serving in Lake Charles Louisiana and in Okinawa, Japan from March 1960 to May 1961, where he received honorable discharge from the USAF. On March 19, 1961 Cecil was presented a Certificate of License of Gospel Ministry by the Central Baptist Church Naha, Okinawa, Ryukyu Island. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University from 1963-1965. Cecil and Carolyn Sliger were married from 1961-1994. He worked as a salesman as they lived in Shawnee and raised a family of four children. He was a member of the University Baptist Church, Shawnee. Later in life, he lived in OKC, attended Heritage Baptist Church and later lived at Village at Oakwood. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Ray Sadler and Anna Mae (Brown) Sadler, his step-mother, Leota Jewell Harris Sadler, and brothers: Gary Cole and Chester Sadler. He is survived by his sister: Rita Sadler Jarvis of Mangum, OK; brother & sister-in-law: Bill & Judy Keller of Edmond, OK; sons: David Sadler of Shawnee, OK and Greg Sadler of the Philippines; daughters & sons-in-law: Debra & Mike Luttrell of Springdale, Arkansas and Gina & Russell Randolph of South Fork, CO; grandchildren: Shelby Sadler, Cameron Sadler, Morgan Sadler, Remee Sadler, Jaxon Sadler, Abigayle Luttrell, Nicklaus Luttrell, Natalie Luttrell, Rebecca Randolph, Parker Randolph, and River Randolph, a great-grandchild: Mya Sadler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
