Shawnee resident Charlcie Marie Guinn, 95, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at her home. She was born to Charles B. and Hannah (Mayhall) Curtis on March 12, 1922. She attended Meeker schools. Charlcie married Burlin Guinn on June 20, 1940. Together they worked a dairy farm many years. She also worked for Douglas Aircraft as a “Rosie the Riveter”, Farmers & Merchants Bank, and the County Assessors’ office. Burlin and Charlcie had two children, Elaine Coker and Gary Guinn. Charlcie was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a devoted Democrat and member of First Christian Church. Charlcie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Gary, grandson: Craig, great-granddaughter: Brittney Coker, 2 brothers: Watson and Howard Curtis, and a sister: Emma Guinn. She is survived by her daughter: Elaine Coker and husband Darrell, and a grandson: Steven Coker. Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Oklahoma City. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at First Christian Church in Shawnee with Rev. Ray Belford officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
