Charles Ray York, 72, of Earlsboro, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in a local hospital.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Danny Napier officiating. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka, OK under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. The casket will remain closed at the church.Chuck was born January 5, 1946 in Wynnewood, OK to William Owen & Jo Lee (Bingham) York. He attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. On July 6, 1969 he married Lela Ann Scott in Kiowa, OK. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 21 years, 10 months and 25 days. He was stationed in Lackland AFB, TX; Chanute AFB, IL; Wheelus AFB, Lybia; Travis AFB, CA; Tinker AFB, OK; Kadena AFB, Okinawa; Taipe AFB, Taiwan; Mountain Home AFB, ID; Anderson AFB, Guam; Eglin AFB, FL; Osan AFB, Korea; Myrtle Beach AFB, SC; and K.I. Sawye AFB, MI; he was a journeyman electrician.Chuck was a square dance caller and dancer for Tradewind Squares, Guam and Red Hots of Okinawa, Japan, and a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. He was a trophy winning fisherman and loved spoonbill fishing with his lifetime best friend (more like a brother) J.C. Sterling. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, and a faithful friend.He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen & JoLee York, and his parents-in-law: Robert & Eyleen Scott.Chuck is survived by his wife LeAnn of the homeDaughter & Son-in-Law: Montez & Nathan Gay of ShawneeSon & Daughter-in-Law: Charles, Jr. & Kerri York of EarlsboroGrandchildren: Ryan Gay and his wife Gabby of Okla. City, Natalie York of Stillwater, Sabrina Gay of Shawnee, Kyalea York of Earlsboro, Ashalee York of Earlsboro, and Aaron Gay of Shawnee; Sister: Sue Ingram of Ada; Aunt: Betty Wade of Corapolis, PA; 2 Brothers-in-law, 1 Sister-in-law, 3 Nephews, 2 Nieces, Great Nieces and Nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
