Cheryl Christina Holmes

Shawnee resident Cheryl Christina Holmes passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 in Shawnee.

Cheryl was born November 2, 1949 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Alva Lee Cox and Victoria Ramona (Stubbs) Cox.  She attended McLoud schools.  On June 5, 1969 she married Elmer Carl Holmes.  She spent much of her life as a housewife and homemaker.  She enjoyed building things, working on anything that needed fixed, but most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family.  She never met a stranger and enjoyed providing for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters: Victoria Mae Lower, Rebecca Sue Holmes, Candy Laurie Cox, a brother:  Bobby David Cox.

Survivors include two sons:  Kristopher Carl Holmes of Shawnee, Jeremy Lee Holmes of Shawnee, grandchildren: Jeremy Chance Holmes, David Kristopher Holmes, Jimmy Solomon Holmes, Emily Kay Holmes, Amanda Janae Rebecca Holmes, Cherokee Cheyenne Cox, Sister:  Patricia Gae Kramer and husband Steve of Shawnee, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
