Claude J. Taylor, 94, surrounded by his family, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Fathers' Day, the 16th day of June, 2019. He was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on October 7th, 1924 to Minnie and John Taylor. He was one of nine siblings. He married Nellie Carroll on September 20th, 1947 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. They were married 65 years before her death in 2012. He was a proud American and was a member of the Greatest Generation, who served in World War II in the South Pacific. He was retired from the Federal Government having served for 34 years. After retirement he enjoyed selling cars for Bob Townsend Ford. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Dan Welcher of Oklahoma City, and Vicki and Lee Hayward of Shawnee; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jeannie Taylor of Shawnee. He lived to enjoy the lives of 7 Grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee Oklahoma for the past 50 years. His service will be held there on Thursday, June 20th at 2 o'clock with Pastor Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
