Cleta LaDawn Hollis

Cleta LaDawn Hollis passed on to meet her Lord Jesus on April 16, 2023 in Shawnee, OK.

She was born on June 27, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Adopted by Cleda Dorceal (Hamilton) Mize and Warren Kelley Mize, she grew up in Seminole, OK. She attended East Central University in Ada, OK where she met her husband, Charles Hollis. They were married on June 18, 1982 and made a home in Seminole, OK. They were active in their local church, including singing in the choir. In 1994 the family moved to Shawnee, OK. There she was devoted to her work at Sequoyah Elementary, having served there in some capacity for almost 30 years.

LaDawn has three loving daughters: Courtney and husband Rev. Matthew Lowry of Oklahoma City, Crystal Hollis of Shawnee, and Callie and husband Zack Sherrill of Yukon. She doted on her four grandkids and was looking forward to the fifth.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Kelley Mize, her stepfather, Roy Montgomery, and her mother, Dorceal Montgomery.

A family visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Walker Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 2:00pm at Aydelotte Baptist Church in Shawnee. Internment to follow at Johnson Cemetery.
