Danny Lee Wilson, longtime Shawnee-area resident, passed away on July 7, 2021. He was 67. Danny was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on June 1, 1954, the son of Maudie (France) and Roland “Tuck” Wilson. In 1972, he graduated from Shawnee High School and later graduated from Okmulgee Tech with a degree in carpentry. He married Cindy Kelly on August 9, 1974 and they had 1 daughter, Melissa Dawn. Danny later married Kelly Flynn on June 7, 1987 and they had 2 daughters, Shelby Rae and Taylor Lea. Danny worked in various construction positions throughout his life including both residential and commercial. In his later years, he was a construction superintendent for various commercial projects all around the United States. Danny was an avid outdoorsman, golfer, and lover of all things OU, especially football. BOOMER SOONER! He was a beloved father, Papa, and great grandpa, and he never met a stranger in his life. He could talk to just about anybody, and he always had a funny story to tell. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, parents, one brother, Stephen Ray, and numerous aunts and uncles. Danny’s survivors include a brother, Richard Wilson, of New York City, New York, three daughters, Melissa (Wilson) Folsom and her husband, Kevin, of Cushing, OK, Shelby (Wilson) Beasley and her husband, Christopher, of Huntington Beach, CA, and Dr. Taylor (Wilson) Aufill and her husband, Matthew, of Guthrie, OK; two grandsons Kody Folsom of Yale, OK and Trevor Folsom and his wife, Baylee, of Cushing, OK; one granddaughter Logan Folsom of Cushing, OK; one great-granddaughter Everlee Folsom of Cushing, OK, and numerous family and friends. The family will be present at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, to receive friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 12, at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK with Bro. Clint Dawkins and Dr. Josh Phelps officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
