Shawnee resident David Blochowiak, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his home. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Calvary Cemetery. David was born November 28, 1946 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Peter Joseph Blochowiak, Sr. and Helen LaVerne (Slaymaker) Blochowiak. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1966 and attended Seminole Jr. College. David served in the United States Army in Vietnam earning the Bronze Star and receiving the Purple Heart. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after many years as an aircraft painter. He enjoyed birdwatching and working outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter: Janetta Tesch. Survivors include his 2 children: Janay Blochowiak of OKC, and Crystal Blochowiak of Las Vegas, 2 grandchildren: Stephon Morris and Matraca Stanley, 6 great grandchildren: Avory, Alasia, Azariah, Xavier, Natalia, and Giovanni, step daughter: Jelessa Green, siblings: Peter Blochowiak, Bob Blochowiak, Ed Blochowiak, Marion “Gib” Blochowiak, and Veronica Appolonia, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
