George David "Frog" Ferguson was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Maude and Bill Ferguson on his Aunt Pearl and Uncle Guy's farm on May 27, 1938. David went to heaven on August 23, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at his home.
David was raised in Shawnee, graduating from Shawnee High School in 1956, where he was the first chair on the trombone in the band. David was an avid Bluegrass Player, specifically the fiddle. He loved cars, hunting deer, restoring antique tractors, going dancing, riding horses and spending time at the lake. Recently he took up sewing as a hobby. As well, he enjoyed his winters away from the Oklahoma chill in Harlingen, Texas. He was a jack of all trades, master of most. David was a kind, loving man with an ornery streak manifested in his pranks and jokes. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Survivors include his children, Dawn Zimmer and Jon Ferguson of Shawnee, siblings Larry Ferguson and wife Saundra of Lexington, OK, Maurita Judy of Tecumseh, grandchildren: Bailey Bickerstaff and significant other Isiah Osborne, Keelie Reams and husband Jayden, George Landon Zimmer, Jon Michael Ferguson, Diedrick Riner and wife Anna, and Ryan Ferguson and wife Emma; great grandchildren: Eli Osborne, Edward Ferguson, Elizabeth Ferguson, and Shiloh Reams as well as his favorite not son-in-law Matt Zimmer.
David was preceded in death by his parents, significant other Dorothy Matthews as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
