David Bruce Thomas

David Bruce Thomas passed away March 20, 2023 in Wellston, OK. He was born July 5, 1962 in Borger, Texas to Millard "Bud" Jr. and Ruth Thomas. 

David graduated from Shawnee High School in 1981. He received a full ride scholarship to play football at Panhandle State and then transferred to Southeastern State to continue playing football. He worked as a farm hand and was a jack of all trades. He was a great athlete, trained horses, owned his own upholstery shop named the Broken Springs in Shawnee and had a lot of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Millard "Bud" Thomas, Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth Thomas, sister, Marsha and husband Chuck Hughes, sister, Maria and husband Larry Cox, brother, Robert "Cowchip" Thomas, daughters, Taylor Thomas and Bailey Carver, granddaughters, Riley and Tatum Batchelor, granddaughters, Conlee Bryant and Chancy Young, and a host of nieces, great-nieces, and great-great nieces with nephews and great-nephews.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Chapel with Dan Megehee officiating.
