(Oldham) Reeves, he was the youngest of four children and the only son.Graduating from Tecumseh High School in 1953 and the University of Oklahoma in 1957, Dewey married the love of his life, Patricia A. Travis on March 29, 1957. After a brief time in the military from which he was honorably discharged, Dewey and Patty made their way to Phoenix, Arizona to forge their life together. While there, their two children, Kevin and Karen, were born. In 1965 the tug of Oklahoma won and Dewey and his new family returned to his home state where a career of over 20 years with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission was begun.During the course of his life, Dewey was actively involved in the Presbyterian Church, serving at various times as Deacon, Elder, and Sunday School teacher, the Tecumseh Alumni Association serving in several capacities including President, the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma in which he was a member of Tecumseh Lodge #69 where he served in a variety of offices and the McAlester Consistory where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was willing to attempt to repair almost anything which got him the tongue-in-cheek title from his wife of “Mr. Fix It” and enjoyed fishing on many of Oklahoma’s bodies of water throughout most of his life. If asked, however, what his greatest accomplishment in life was, he would most likely indicate his family.Dewey was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patty, his parents, his sisters Loraine Patterson and her husband C.G.
