Don R. Smith

Don R. Smith, 74, of Shawnee, died Saturday, November 25, 2017 in an Oklahoma City hospital.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Larry Sparks and David Henry officiating.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.Don was born April 7, 1943 in Shawnee, OK to Hartsel and Beulah (Hogan) Smith.  He graduated from Shawnee High School, and worked as a scheduling chief at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement.  On November 30, 1963 he married Sharon K. Renegar.  Don was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids at all their dance, cheer, softball and basketball activities. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Smith. Don is survived by his wife: Sharon Smith; a son & daughter-in-law: Darrin & Shannon Smith and their children, Madelynne Smith, and Coleman and Keaton Van Sickle; a granddaughter: Amber Haysmer and her husband Andrew, and their children, Kelsey, Lilly, Katie-Don and Shelby; and 2 sisters: Betty Duvall and Sharon McDonald.
