Doris Florence Newton

Doris Florence (Likens) Newton passed from this life on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Doris was born April 10, 1936 in Dale, Oklahoma to William Roscoe and Laura Lorene (Boone) Likens. She graduated from Dale High School as Class Valedictorian. 

Doris worked for Bell Telephone and Tinker Air Force Base from which she later retired after 26 years of service.

On March 16, 1957, she married the love of her life Lewis Edward Newton. Together they had three children where she loved to watch them grow and spend time with them and her grandkids.

She was a member of Dale Church of Christ and attended the Ladies Bible Class.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lorene Likens, brother Dan Likens, and husband of 49 years, Lewis Newton.

She is survived by her son Gary Lynn and wife Mennette Newton, son Grady Don and wife Brenda Newton; daughter Barbara Gayle Hall; brother William Andrew and wife Thelma Likens; sister-in-law Marilyn Likens; grandchildren John and wife Danielle Newton, Tiffany (Newton) and husband Jeff Banks, Shawn and wife Amy Sveum, Joe and wife Stefanie Sveum, Lake Hall, and Chase Hall; great-grandchildren James, Greyson, Erin, Callen, Parker, Mason, Tyler, Alex, and Alyssa. Special family member Donna Hampton.
