Edith Carolyn Miles

Edith “Carolyn” Miles, born on December 16, 1946 in Shawnee OK, graduated from Shawnee High School in 1965, and Oklahoma Baptist University in 1969. She passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 76. Carolyn was a long-time Shawnee public school educator, teaching over the course of her long career at Robert E. Lee, Will Rogers, and Jefferson elementary. Before her health declined, she was also active in her church, Immanuel Baptist, and the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Dennis Miles, her mother, Edna Arlene Miles, and her niece, Carly Beesley Danker.

She is survived by her sister, Dr. Denise Beesley and her brother-in-law, Stanley Beesley, her niece, Mariah Munn and her husband, Chad Munn, her great-niece, Kadence Munn, and her great-nephews Dillon Danker, Maddox Munn, and Tristen Munn.

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM at Walker Funeral Home on Saturday,  June 17, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
