With the most loving memories ofEverette Scott, Jr.(10-04-1934 to 01-31-2018)Everette Scott, Jr. was born to Everette Scott and Jewel Scott on October 4, 1934, in Proctorville, Ohio. After a family tragedy, Everette, along with his only sister, Londa Lena Scott were raised by their grandparents, Ona Alice Scott and Edward Barnes Scott of Livermore, Kentucky.Everette attended Livermore High School where he excelled academically, and participated in Boy Scout Troop 281, Math Club, FFA, and Fish and Game Club. Everette was a member of the Livermore United Methodist Church.Everette enlisted in the United States Navy on April 17, 1952 and served honorably in the Korean Conflict. His service included stations in San Diego, California, Bainbridge, Maryland, and Portsmouth, Virginia.Everette married Patty Ellen Beloat, on February, 15, 1957, in Columbus Ohio. Everette continued his education and his love of electronics with his employment with AT&T, following in the career footprints of his father, Everette Scott, Sr., and his beloved Uncle Paul Scott. Everette enjoyed a rich career, and relocated within the Bell System in Columbus, Toledo, and Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as in Los Angeles, California. Everette’s final position with AT&T was in Los Angeles, where he worked as the Marketing Director and the AT&T liaison for several oil companies, including Getty Oil. Following Everette’s retirement from AT&T in 1984 at age 50, Everette and his beloved wife, Patty, retired permanently to their summer home in Port Charlotte, Florida, where they lived for the next twenty-one years. During these years, Everette and Patty were members of the Englewood United Methodist church, where they served as volunteer chaplains at Faucette-Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. Everette also served his faith in various other capacities, including Finance Trustee, and a youth teacher. In 2005, Everette and Patty relocated to Oklahoma to continue their retirement and to enjoy the fellowship of their two daughters and their families. Family members who survive Everette, are his beloved wife of 60-years, Patty Scott of Shawnee, Oklahoma, his daughter Suzie Ernstsen of Porter Oklahoma, and Vicki May of Prague, Oklahoma. Everette will be sadly missed by six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Everette is preceded in rest by his father and mother, Everette Scott, Sr., and Jewel Scott Allen, numerous Aunts and Uncles, and most precious to him---his Aunt Londa, and Grandmothers Effie Gladman and Ona Alice Scott.Everette was a faithful fan of the ‘THE’ Ohio State Buckeyes, but Everette was most known for his generosity, his sharp intellect, and for his love for genealogy, as well as for the scriptures. He leaves behind countless hours and binders of ancestry records that date the family lineage back to the Vikings. His genealogy research ties the family lineage to kings and nobility who owned castles and who ruled kingdoms; but it was his study and love for the scriptures that leaves his family with a sure knowledge that Everette loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and that he believed that it is the finished work of Christ---that is the greatest and most powerful knowledge of who we are. Rest in peace-beloved husband.Rest in peace-precious dad.Rest in peace-wonderful Papa.Everette departed this life on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the age of 83. He died peacefully in his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with family gathered. Like Paul of old—this gentle man ‘fought the good fight.’
