Shawnee resident Ferrell Fletcher passed on March 4th at home with his loving wife of 58 years and other family and friends. He was born February 27, 1942 at the family farm in Berlin, Oklahoma to Virgil E. and Anna Mae (Jobe) Fletcher. Ferrell grew up on the family farm and attended school at Berlin through the 10th grade. The family then moved to Sayre, Oklahoma where he graduated with the Class of 1960. He attended Sayre Jr. College for one semester then joined the U.S. Air Force. Following training in San Antonio and Amarillo, Texas he served 3 years in Leon, France. After leaving the military in May of 1965, he moved to Shawnee where he met the love of his life, Alisha Karen Anderson and they married on February 18, 1966.

Ferrell worked in Oklahoma City for 14 years for Kerr McGee and Good Year Service centers as managers. Moving back to western Oklahoma he started up his own construction business Homebuilders Inc of Elk City operating it until he retired and returned to Shawnee. He was a life long member of the Church of Christ, Shawnee BPOE Elk Lodge #657. Past member of Elk City BPOE Elk Lodge #2343, Elk City Reality Association, Elk City Golf County Club, and Surry Hills Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, golf and most of all his family, especially his grandsons giving them their first tractor ride.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his in-laws Arnold J. Sr. and Zelva Leah 'Pat' Anderson, one grandson Nathan Cosby, sisters Alice Fay Smith and Frances Dodson, Sister-in-law Kay Anderson Jenks, Brothers-in-law Carlisle Jenks, Russell Dodson, David Usher, and Daris Smith, Larry Fortenberry, Nephews Neal Anderson, Russell Dodson Jr., Michael Smith, great-grandniece Asamie Opal Marley.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Karen (Anderson) Fletcher, Daughter Leah Ann Cole and husband Jason of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, Son Arnold E. "Gene" Fletcher and wife Melissa of Elk City, Oklahoma, Grandson SPC J. Cayde and wife Molly Fletcher of North Carolina, Sisters Elizabeth Usher of Bentonville, Arkansas, Nancy (Dwayne) Switzer of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Brenda Kaye Johnson of Elk City, Oklahoma, Arlene (Don) Lord of Yukon, Oklahoma and Kathy (Walter) Gibson of Mustang, Oklahoma, Brothers Larry D. (Mary) Fletcher of Fredericksburg, Texas, Ervin 'John' (JoAnn) Fletcher of Alma, Arkansas, Keith Fletcher of Cromwell, Oklahoma, James (Sue) Fletcher of Cordell, Oklahoma, Brother and Sister-in-law Jack and Lana Anderson of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral and Cremation Service. A funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Shawnee Church of Christ.
