Shawnee resident Floy Mae Cook, 87, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 in Shawnee, OK. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Floy was born July 31, 1933 in Gulfport, Mississippi to Louis Allen and Myrtle (Ladner) Allen. She married William “Bill” Cook on October 13, 1951. She worked much of her life as a homemaker but later worked as nurse’s aid. She was a member of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, and doing yard work. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son: Michael, a sister: Betty Barrett, and a brother: Richard Allen. Survivors include 3 children: Sharon Beasley and husband Ray of Meeker, Richard Cook and Yalonda Lowman of Meeker, David Cook and wife Traci of Meeker, 4 Grandchildren: Andrea Beasley, Tammy Tigner and husband Tony, Cole Cook, Zach Cook, 6 Great-Grandchildren: Tyler Tilley, Alyssa Beasley, Julian Tigner, Alexus Tigner, Joslyn Tigner, Alivia Tigner, 1 Sister: Yvonne Kaletsch of Gulfport, Miss, And numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
