Frances Elizabeth Hampton, beloved wife of the late Emmett Merle Hampton, went home with to be with her Lord and Savior on July 19, 2017. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Howard Leonard Hale and Zena Petrie Hale, son-in-law Dan Smith, great-granddaughter Emilee Grace, and Emilee’s father Mike Loughmiller. Frances, and husband Merle, owned the Hampton Brothers’ Shoe Repair Shop on Bell Street for a number of years. Frances was a long-time member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Jan and Bob Jones, Nancy Smith, Sandra and R. B. Lynam, and Annette and Kim Stringer. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Miller and sisters-in-law Juanita Hampton, Pinky Hampton, and Pauline Henke, grandchildren Angela Brickman, Deanna Loughmiller, Chad Clayton, Brian and Josh Washburn, Sarah Kurtright, Timothy Harmon, and Jennah Murray, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 25 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Richard Dickinson officiating, with burial following in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. to visit with friends and family.
