Frank Michael Pfaff August 11,1947 to December 18, 2018 Of all that is good, sublimity is supreme. Succeeding is the coming together of all that is beautiful. Furtherance is the agreement of all that is just. Perseverance is the foundation of all actions. It was Frank's sublimity, success, furtherance, and perseverance that helped transform a two year college into a four year university, a failing institution into a miracle on 23rd street, youthful exuberance into hundreds of fine global citizens and leaders, football players into winning teams, and blank reams of paper into poems and pictures. None of it would have been possible without Frank's parents -- his beloved mother, Bonnie Patterson Pfaff, and father, Michael Frank Pfaff, and his Great-Nanny and Emerson-inspired Great-Poppy, all of whom molded him; his four children: Michael, Jason, David, and Bonnie, and beautiful grandchildren who supplied pride and joy; his caring PCP, and a multitude of doctors, nurses, and therapists at St. Anthony Shawnee, St. Anthony OKC, Oklahoma Heart Hospital North, Rose Manor, and Heartland who healed him; William Shakespeare, William Blake, Taoism, and his faith that inspired him; and, his wife, Judith Palladino, who loved, challenged, and cared for him. Dr. Frank Pfaff was a Renaissance man - a teacher, a "builder," an intellect, a writer, and an artist. His passing, at home, was "unexpected yet expected" -- a tired epitaph, a tired man. Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 21 at St. Gregory’s Abby Church, with Abbott Lawrence officiating. His body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Service until he is moved to the Abby on Friday at 9:00 a.m. with the casket open until service time.
