Wake services will be Monday Evening at the Standing Family residence. Burial will be Tuesday Morning at the Standing Family Cemetery in Jones, OK. Freddie (Fred) Joe Standing,75, resident of Jones, OK passed away November 26, 2021. Fred was born July 18, 1946 in Lawton,OK to the late Orin June Standing and Thelma Warden Standing of Gracemont, OK. Fred is a member of the Wichita and Affiliated Nation of Oklahoma and a Snow Clan member with the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma. Fred graduated from Gracemont High School, then attended the University of Central Oklahoma before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. While attending the University of Central Oklahoma Fred met the love of his life Linda Sue Standing. They were married at Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church in Gracemont, OK in 1967. Fred and Linda had 5 children: Corey Standing-Lucero married to Virgil Lucero of Isleta, NM; Angela Standing-Gasper married to Patrick Gasper of Stroud, OK; Cameron Standing married to Ginger Standing of Ignacio, CO, Harriett Nanaeto of Shawnee, OK; and his Hunka adopted son Heath Ducheneaux married to Tawa Ducheneaux of Kyle, SD. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Orin and Thelma, his in-laws, John and Harriett Nanaeto of Jones, OK, sister, Kay Goombi of Gracemont, OK, brother, Edgar Delaware of Anadarko, OK, brothers-in-law, Johnny Nanateo Jr. of Jones, OK, Larry Nanaeto of Jones, OK and Jerry Nanaeto of Jones, OK, sister-in-law, Barbara Nanaeto of Jones, OK, and nephew, Lance Nanaeto of Tecumseh, OK. He is survived by his wife, Linda Standing; daughters, Corey Standing-Lucero, Angela Standing-Gasper, Harriett Nanaeto; sons, Cameron Standing and Heath Ducheneaux; grandchildren, Whitney Standing of Shawnee OK, Justin Morris of Stroud, OK, Cody Morris of Stroud,OK, Partrick Gasper Jr of Stroud, OK, Jayden Gasper of Stroud, OK, Meagan Lucero of Durango, CO, Eliyah Lucero of Durango, CO, Jillian Lucero of Durango, CO, Dylan Lucero of Durango, CO, Orin Standing of Ignacio, CO, Logan Standing of Ignacio, CO, Evangeline Flatrock of Tecumseh OK, Christopher Flatrock Jr. of Tecumseh OK, Adaline Bemo of Tecumseh, OK, Cetan Ducheneaux of Kyle, SD, and Tsenesa Ducheneasux of Kyle, SD; aunt, Rochelle Swift of Anadarko, OK and brother, Dennis Warden of Norman. Fred had 15 nieces and nephews who gifted the family with an additional 50 grandchildren. He is also survived by 48 great-grandchildren as well as many others across Indian Country, the United States and Canada whom he would call family. Fred was adored and loved by many. He was a champion and prominent Southern Strait Dancer having competed nationwide. Fred was a friend to everyone. He was always willing to lend a hand to help another or offer his home to those in need. Fred loved sports of all kinds, playing or watching he found joy in the competition and friendly banter that comes with sports. Fred loved the outdoors, he found peace in simply being in nature and listening to the sweet melody of the birds singing and the wind in the pines. He has hiked many trails and traveled many places throughout his life. Every person and place Fred has touched has been improved for the better. He brought to life a desire to live the best life and experience all the joy and love that life has to offer; his lessons will carry us all as we continue to honor the legacy in which he began.
