Gene Reed

Gene Lewis Reed, 81, of Noble, passed away on Thursday February 15, 2018. He was born October 26, 1936 in Norman, OK to the late Lewis and Virgie (Darling) Reed. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue (Allred) Reed, his parents, Lewis and Virgie Reed, his brother, Don Reed and step-daughter Nita Coker.He graduated Noble High School in 1954. Shortly after he was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Oklahoma. He often worked with heavy equipment while in truck driving and construction. He enjoyed the usual southern splendors of hunting, fishing, RV'ing, camping, and watching Oklahoma Football and Thunder Basketball. During the 50's and 60's, Gene was a stock car racer and was awarded many trophies and commendations. Gene is survived by his sister, Carole Reed, his four children: Kenneth Reed and wife Dana ; Teresa Thompson and husband Gary ; Melia Reed ; Justin Reed and wife Jemalu, and two step children: Mike Sisson and wife Jackie, and Patti Sisson as well as 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee, OK on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2pm. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved Sue at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee immediately following the service.
