Gerald Wayne France

Gerald Wayne France, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 10, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on July 26, 1944, in Kentucky, Gerald lived a life characterized by hard work, generosity, and a dedication to his family and friends.

Gerald spent his career as a heavy equipment operator, a role that not only showcased his skills but also his commitment to providing for his loved ones. His kindness became a hallmark of his character.

He was a mentor to the younger generation, always eager to share his knowledge and life experiences. Though he sometimes appeared shy around new people, his humor and giving spirit always radiated once he felt at ease. Gerald enjoyed spending time outdoors, where he found joy in fishing and hunting trips. He embraced these moments not just as hobbies, but as precious opportunities to bond with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Gerald took great pride in passing down his love for hunting to his grandkids, teaching them not just about the sport, but about life itself. The proud moments of witnessing his sons bag impressive bucks and making memories together will forever be etched in the hearts of his family. At home, Gerald found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was working on random projects with Russell or taking care of the chickens. He was a devoted family man who was never too busy to lend a helping hand.

Gerald was also very proud of getting baptized after 80 years on August 18 earlier this year.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis France, and his sons, Gerald Jr. France, Russell France, and Tony France. He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Pammy Franciski and Lisa Carr, along with Tammie Brimm and Rhonda Young. Gerald is also survived by his sister Geneva Norris. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Jerri, Jody, Shane, Cody, Brianna, Ryan, Mikey, Gina, Nicholas, and Andrew, as well as several great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Cora Lee France; brothers James and C.R. France; sister Ethel Price; sister Betty Webb and her husband Vertis; and his daughter Gina France.

A viewing will take place on October 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, followed by visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. His funeral service will be held the following day, October 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Aydelotte Baptist Church.
