Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother left this life to her eternal home in Heaven on April 28, 2019. She was 92. Helen was born on June 4, 1926 to Marion B. and Ira Jane Gibson of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She attended Earlsboro High School. On September 16, 1944 she married Clifford Dee Sikes upon his return from the army. Helen was a longtime faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Tecumseh where she and her husband loved working with the youth. She was employed at Sylvania Electric Plant, C.R. Anthony and retired from Shawnee Public School Food Service. Helen loved to cook. Her house was always open to family and friends with food on the stove. Other hobbies were reading and traveling. She and Clifford took many fishing and camping trips with their sons and continued that tradition with the grandchildren (who were not too spoiled). Family has always been an important part of her life. In 2013 Helen and Clifford moved into Primrose Retirement Center where they made lots of new friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband of 71 years, brother George Gibson and his wife Jean, sister Elsie and her husband Dub Moore, brother-in-law Harold Roberts and sister-in-law Mary Gibson. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons and daughters-in-law: Clifton and Lanette Sikes of Earlsboro, Phillip and Lydia Sikes of Florida, three precious granddaughters: Jana and Clayton Grubbs of Tecumseh, Heather and Chris Garcia of Florida, Karen J. Milton of Washington; four lovely great-granddaughters: Jordan Luese Grubbs, Kayleigh and Chelsea Garcia, Keon Sikes; great grandson: Mikeal Sikes; great-great grandson Timothy Sikes. She is also survived by sisters Geneva Lofties and Thelma Roberts, brothers Kenneth and Don Gibson and wife Johnnie, and sister-in-law Norma Sikes of Odessa, Texas. There are also many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2 in Walker Funeral Chapel with Brothers Mack Peercy and Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
