James Paul Boatman "Pete," 80 passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
A funeral ceremony will be held at the Walker Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Viewing will be on Monday, December 13th until 7:00 pm.
Pete was born July 6, 1941 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to his parents, Veda and Zeke Boatman. Pete was a roughneck in the oil fields for many years. He then became a diesel mechanic which he excelled at. He was also an amazing welder. He worked at Tow Brothers Equipment from 1971-1997.
In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his amazing wife and family. He loved to aggravate his best friend and brother Joe. He really enjoyed sitting in his chair in the garage and telling everyone what they were doing wrong and how they should be doing it. He was a great manager.
His hobbies included watching the Dallas Cowboys play and also watching his all time favorite Tom Brady "The Goat". We must never forget his love for the casinos. He was always an outdoor man who could fix anything or tell you how. Pete always had a compliment for everyone along with a joke and a laugh. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Boatman, siblings, Joe Boatman and Jack Boatman, children, Tammy and Tommy Gillmore, Paula and Robert Rendquist, Mark Boatman, Joshua Boatman, Della Hensel, Melinda Cook, and Amanda Bryant, a great number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild who all loved him immensely.
He was preceded in death by parents, Veda and Zeke Boatman, siblings Frank Boatman, Bill Brown and Betty Boyce.
