James Clinton Cravens of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed from this life on April 7th, 2017 at 6:45 P.M. at the age of 78. James was born November 27, 1938, in McAlester, Oklahoma the son of Ezra Volney and Sarah Lucindy (Martin) Cravens. James graduated from Spalding High School in 1959. On December 24, 1959 he married Josie Morris in Holdenville, Oklahoma. James was a general contractor in Shawnee. He was a member of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Josie Cravens, three sons, Jeffery Clinton Cravens and wife Michelle, of Corona, CA, James Chadwick Cravens and wife Maty of Shawnee, and Jerome Heath Cravens and wife Wendy of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Clinton Cravens of California, Skylar Cravens of Shawnee, Joshua Cravens and Timothy Cravens of Shawnee, and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents E.V. and Sarah Cravens, seven brothers, Alven, Allen, Ed, Kenneth, Donald, Lawrence, and Paul Cravens, and two sisters, Deloris White Wilhoite and Dorothy Campbell. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 12th, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at Walker Funeral Service. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 13, at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church where Rev. Larry Sparks and Jesse Hernandez will be officiating. Burial will be at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery.
