James Dale Davis

James “Dale” Davis, longtime resident of McLoud, OK passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2023, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.

Dale was an only child born on July 9, 1945, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma to Delbert and Jo (Starwalt) Davis of Blair, Oklahoma. Dale attended Blair Schools, which is also where he met the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Brinsfield whom he was later united in marriage on June 16, 1961.  Dale was a successful businessman and electrician but his real joy in life was farming, ranching and his cattle.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jo and Delbert Davis (Blair); grandson, Logan James Luka (Newalla); granddaughter, Taytum Michelle Davis (Dale); and special family friend and longtime neighbor, Don Aubert of McLoud.

Dale is survived by his three children, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and countless special friends.

Dale’s children and their families are Phyllis (Davis) and Jimmy Thomas of Prague; children, Christi Luka and Brandon Shipman, son, Mason Luka; Lindsi and Phillip of Choctaw, OK.

Fonda (Davis) Manwell of Choctaw, OK and (honorary son-in-law) Todd Manwell of Jones, OK; their children, Rylan Manwell and Jennilee Thompson of Jones; children, Cooper and Kylee Manwell of Jones, OK, and Landon Manwell of Jones, OK, and his children, Mylah Jayde and Kallen Manwell.

Faron Davis and Beverly Lawson of Dale, OK; children, Tiffany and Jake Lackey of McLoud, OK, their children, Case and Lynnlee Lackey; Jennifer Lee of McLoud, OK and son Davis Lee; Danielle and Blake Burgess of Mcloud, OK, their children, Rayli and Wade Burgess; Tyler Davis of Dale, OK and his children Kutter and Kalihan Davis.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, March 30^th from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Friday, March 31^st, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with family present to greet friends from 5-7pm.

A funeral ceremony for Dale will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, OK. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Dale Cemetery.    

Memorial Donations may be made in Dale’s name to St. Jude’s or Shriners Hospital. The family wishes to express our extreme gratitude for the nurses and physicians at OU Medical Center for the excellent care of Dale.
