James Pawpa, Jr age 57 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his home. Services will be Wednesday October 6, 2021 at the Earlsboro Indian Baptist Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Wakolee Cemetery. Pastor Victor Cope officiating. The family requests those attending to please wear a mask. He was born on March 17, 1964 to Shirley Walters and James Pawpa, Sr. He graduated from Dale Public School, and was trained in the National Guard at Fort Benning, Georgia. On October 3rd, 1995 he married Sandra Thorpe in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was a member of Earlsboro Indian Baptist Church and a proud member of the Sac and Fox Nation and Absentee Shawnee Tribe. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his family at the lake, and visiting with George. He also enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews play basketball. He was an OU fan. He is preceded in death by his Dad, sister Lorri Pawpa, grandparents Harry and Lucille Brown, aunts Beverly Harjo and Rita Alexander. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Shirley; wife Sandra; grandma Lorene Thorpe, 3 daughters: Jacey Pawpa, Jamie Pawpa and stepdaughter Jessica Wills all of Shawnee. One son: Jarrett Thorpe of Norman; sister: Andrea and L.A. Heatley; brother: Donald Pawpa; Aunt: Janet and Tom White; Uncle: Sherman and Patricia Brown. Grandchildren: Ruger Pawpa, Legend Walton and Chevelle Wills all of Shawnee and an extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
