Janice Black Green of Shawnee, OK, passed away on March 6, 2022. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on Nov. 28, 1949. She was the daughter of Frances Henderson Black Moody, and Roy L. Black, Jr., who preceded her in death. Jan graduated from Shawnee High School in 1968. Jan and her husband, Ronny Green, owned Green’s Corner in Shawnee on East Main for 28 years. She was an active and founding member of the United Presbyterian Church. Besides enjoying and cherishing her grandchildren, her hobbies included antiques and collectibles, gardening, genealogy, playing Words with Friends, and she was an avid reader. Jan is survived by her husband, Ronny Green, and her son, Steven and daughter-in-law, Dawn Windel Blair; son, David Coker; sisters Carolyn Black Richmond and Pam Black Byers and husband, Bob, all of Edmond; nephews, Scott Griffith and wife, Allison, Branson, MO; Roone Richmond, Oklahoma City; Chris Byers and wife, Dana, Edmond; stepchildren, Cindy Robertson, Newalla; and Tim Green and wife, Bonnie, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Annabelle and Clare Coker, Elizabeth and Tripp Massey , Edmond; Kaitlin Robertson and fiancé Austin Stacy, Newalla; Matt Green, Choctaw; Caleb Green and wife Brittany, Yukon; Hillary Calvert, Oklahoma City; eight great grandchildren; seven great nieces and nephews; cousins Lanny Henderson, Oklahoma City; Mary Margaret Mize, Oklahoma City; and Anna Looper, Shawnee. A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Jan will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Chapel.
