Janice Lynn Mitchell

Shawnee resident Janice Lynn Mitchell, 69, passed away on Monday, in Shawnee.  Janice was born on July 6, 1950, in Shawnee to Charles and Virginia (Taron) Northcutt.  Janice graduated from Shawnee High School with the class of 1968.  She retired from SW Bell/AT&T having worked for them over 30 years.  Janice was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed doing crochet and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Lorie Phillips; her siblings and their spouses, Margaret and Gary Cooper, Denise and Bill Thurman, Rhonda Grinnell, Alice and Alan Day, Anita and Jack McDonald, Pat and Maureen Northcutt, Mike and Nancy Northcutt, Yvette and Bill Warmker; several nieces, nephews, family and friends; and her dog, Harley Jo.

A wake service will be Thursday, August 1 at 6:00 PM at St Benedicts Catholic Church in Shawnee.  A mass of Christian burial will be Friday, August 2 at 10:00 AM at St Benedicts Catholic Church in Shawnee.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee.
