Joan A. Wiley, resident of Shawnee, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was 69 years old. Joan was born on May 8, 1954 in Dumas, Texas to her parents, Bobby and Neta Judd. She graduated from Strother High School in Seminole, OK. She completed her associate degree at Seminole State and continued her education at OBU, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and at St. Gregory’s University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. She worked as an administrator for Northrop-Grumman at Tinker Air Force Base. Joan married David Wiley on May 10, 1986. Although she was very proud of her educational achievements, her proudest and greatest achievement was becoming a mother to two wonderful boys, Jordan and Nathan.
Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She was also crafty in making jewelry and doing cross-stitch. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved the cruise to Alaska and the family vacation to San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Neta Judd. Survivors include her husband, David Wiley, sons, Jordan Wiley and Nathan Wiley, and sister, Dee Fisher.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so during a time of visitation on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5-7pm at Meeker Assembly of God (209 E. Carl Hubbell Blvd., Meeker, OK). A funeral ceremony for Joan will be held at Meeker Assembly of God on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.
