Johnie A. Brown

Johnie Alfred Brown, 77, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

He was born, April 30, 1942 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Joe and Ruby (Bristow) Brown. He was raised in Shawnee and attended Shawnee schools. He married Glenda Ann Brown on November 20, 1964 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Johnie was a diesel mechanic and worked for Turner Equipment for 30 years before retiring.

Johnie enjoyed going to church, the senior center, fishing, hunting, collecting guns, spending time with his grandchildren. He was a great storyteller, telling stories of his childhood and memorable moments throughout his life. He could run a table of pool anytime.  He was a man of few works, but his words made a big impact on others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sons, Jeffery, Joe and Stacey Brown and 1 brother, Jackie Brown.

Those left to cherish his memory are his 2 sons, 1 daughter and 1 daughter-in-law, Danny and Anita of Harrah, Mathew of Shawnee, Melissa Dethrow of Shawnee, 1 Sister, Betty of Shawnee, Oklahoma, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 27 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
