Johnny Neal Wingo, Sr., was born November 25, 1939, in Holdenville, OK to Vernon Wingo and Clora (Coppedge) Wingo. He passed away December 19, 2020 in Shawnee in the home of his daughter, Cathy, surrounded by his precious family.
Johnny married his high school sweetheart, Donna Goad, on March 4, 1960 in the home of her parents, Ofas and Mary Goad in Holdenville.
After service six months active duty in the National Guard and eight years in the reserves, Johnny worked as a butcher from 1958-1966 in Holdenville, 1966 in Pawhuska, then 1966 until he retired in 2005 in Wewoka. Known for his special smile and kindness as he greeted his customers and his famous chili. Johnny loved working on cars, his yard and garden but his greatest love was his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Booker Wingo, Vernon Wingo, Jr.; sisters, Nadine (Wingo) Roberts, Betty Wingo, Joy Sue Wingo; father-in-law, Ofas Goad and several aunts and uncles.
Johnny is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Donna; children: J. Neal and Robin Wingo, Tammy and Steve Wilburn, Cathy (Wingo) Broome and Robert Moon; grandchildren, Paula and Ryan Tucker, Payton Broome, Tyler and Kaylee Wilburn and Blaine Wilburn and great-granddaughter, Madison Faye Tucker, his newest love; mother-in-law, Mary Goad Chase; brothers, Doyle Wingo and wife, Patty, Dennis Dale Wingo and wife, Jewell, Hardy Wingo and wife, Linda, Vollie Wingo and wife, Mary, Ronald (Sonny) Wingo and wife, Barbara; sister, Phyllis Byerly; sister-in-law, Johnnie Elizabeth Wingo and lots of nieces and nephews.
His kind and gentle soul will be so missed.
Service at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee, Wednesday, December 23rd at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers will be J. Neal Wingo, Payton Broome, Tyler Wilburn, Blaine Wilburn, Ryan Tucker and Robert Moon.
