Joseph Darren "Jody" Stafford

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph “Jody” Darren Stafford, 61, announce his passing from a brief illness on March 10, 2025 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

Jody was born May 20, 1963 in Phoenix, Arizona to Ira “Clay” Stafford and Marjorie Darling (Brown) Stafford. He married his high school sweetheart Rhonda Sue Stafford on January 3, 1981 and settled in Tecumseh and raised their three children.

Together, they started A-1 Fence Company and ran the company for the past 32 years. Jody truly loved his work and his favorite motto was “keep on fencin.” Jody was a true patriot, loved his country and believed in the best of our nation and you could always find him watching NewsMax. He was an avid gun collector and went to all the local gun shows. Jody loved being in the kitchen cooking up wonderful meals as well as exploring new places to try delicious foods. Jody was a beach bum. He loved traveling and exploring white sandy beaches and the clearest waters. But Jody found the greatest joy in the company of his wife, children, and grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Marjorie Stafford and his sister, Karla Sue Stafford.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Rhonda Stafford; his three children, Malania Hammer, Jessica and husband Steven Yones, and Shane Stafford; 9 grandchildren, Michael and fiancé Raven, Connor, Garrett, Devin, Samantha, and Parker Hammer, Landon and Sheldon Yones, and Colt Stafford; 1 great-grandchild, Luke Hammer; and his brother and his wife, Scott and Lisa Stafford.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service located at 201 E. 45th St, Shawnee, OK 74804. Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 13th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral ceremony will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Walker Funeral Chapel. Following the ceremony, Jody will be laid to rest at Tecumseh Cemetery.
