Shawnee resident Vera “Joyce” Bullock, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 19, 2021 at Tecumseh Cemetery. Joyce was born September 26, 1929 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to E.W. and Dovie (Odom) Brooks. She attended school at Harjo and later Southwestern College. She married Edward Bullock on January 30, 1954. She worked much of her life as a wonderful homemaker but also worked various retail and factory jobs. Joyce was a prayer warrior, faithful in reading her bible, enjoyed reading Christian fiction romance novels, watching Day Star T.V. and loved playing with her great-grandchildren and helping them daily with their homework. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant grandchild, a grandson: Jeremy Bullock, 2 brothers: Jimmy and Lee Brooks, and a sister: Ethelda Chotia. Survivors include: Daughter: Mary Bullock of Shawnee, Granddaughter: Joy Souther and husband Aaron, Great-Grandchildren: Bryanna, Rose, and Jessica Souther, Son: Randy Bullock and wife Delight (Sonntag) Bullock of Wichita Falls, TX, Grandson: Chuck Bullock, Great-Grandchildren: Fiona and Ashley Kerchee, Tasi Wetselline, Grandson: Chad Bullock and wife Jane, Great-Grandson: Jacob Aycardo, Other family: Rosita Aycardo, Another Daughter and her children and grandchildren, 2 Sisters: Elaine and Kenneth Holder of Shawnee, Alice Bolt of Norman, And several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
