Joyce G. Davis

Joyce Glenda (Turley) Davis was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on September 13, 1934, the only child to Pearly and Harold Turley. She sadly departed this life, Friday, November 24, 2023 at the age of 89 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. 

She traveled with her parents wherever work took them: Florida, California, Oklahoma. She met George Ray Davis at age 15 in Oklahoma City and they were married May 8, 1950. Together they had one daughter and four sons. She worked many different jobs during her life including working at Hilton Hotels where she met Tom Jones. She retired in 2000 from Marriott Hotel as a Housekeeping Supervisor. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband and gathering with her close family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, spouse, and one son, George Zachary Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Loraine (Davis) Wells and spouse Danny of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, son, Russell Bradley (Brad) Davis and spouse Teresa of Moore, Oklahoma, Philip Christian (Chris) Davis and spouse Donna of Moore, Oklahoma, and Jason Patrick Davis and spouse Angela of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She leaves 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. 

A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee. She will be laid to rest during a private memorial along with her husband at a later date.
