Karen F. (Cullison) Newman

Karen Florence Newman was born to Johnny J. and Lillian E. (Woodward) Cullison, August 30, 1947 in Merced, California. She came to Shawnee as an infant and lived her life in this area. She passed from this life Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Karen attended Shawnee Public Schools, graduating from Shawnee High School in 1965. Karen was a kind, loving and generous woman, sharing freely even through her struggles. Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Alta Ray Culp; husband, George Newman; siblings, William "Walter" Williams, Jimmy Lee Williams, Frank Cullison, Linda Grable and Janice Bryan. She is survived by a son, Tracy Ray Culp of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Janell Cullison of Shawnee; brother-in-law, Mike Bryan of Woodlyn, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Michelle Swaggerty of Shawnee; grandsons, Aiden Culp and Trayson Culp; great grandchildren, Amilya, Aliyah and Andy Swaggerty and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. The family would especially like to thank Jim and Kathy for their many acts of kindness over a long period of time. A memorial service will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 28, 2018 .
