Kathryn "Kathy" Lynn Bowlan

Kathryn Lynn Bowlan was born on October 22, 1956 in Ozark, Arkansas to Truman and Pat Fowler. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 5, 2018 in Rogers, Arkansas. She graduated from Van Buren High School in Arkansas and moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1975 to attend Oklahoma Baptist University. Kathy married her husband of 41 years, Steve Bowlan, in 1976 and settled in Shawnee. She worked at American National Bank (Arvest) in the late 70s and began working at Immanuel Baptist Church in 1982. She served as church secretary for the next 36 years. Kathy was very involved at Immanuel. She enjoyed teaching 8th grade girls Sunday school, singing in the church choir, and cooking for various church events, especially Falls Creek. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her most cherished title was being Dandy to her five grandchildren.Her mother, Pat Fowler, and father, Truman Fowler, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Lucy Kinslow and Eddy of Rogers, Arkansas, her husband, Steve Bowlan, her son, Mark Bowlan and Kim of Shawnee, her son, Michael Bowlan and Chelsea of Norman, and her five grandchildren, Daniel, Karis, and Luke of Shawnee, and Ellie and Braxton of Norman. There will be a private family burial and then a memorial service on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 3:30 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will be at Walker Funeral Service 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 to visit with friends and family.
