Kay Dette Sugg Best, 78, of Shawnee, OK, passed from this life Saturday, November 26, 2022. A memorial ceremony will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 10am at the Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Larry Sparks will be officiating. Kay was born April 24, 1944, in Ada, Oklahoma to Nell Dean (Johnson) Aynes and William Roan Sugg. As a young girl, she moved to Oklahoma City with her mother and graduated from John Marshall High School. She married the love of her life, Forrest Edward Best, on October 23, 1963. They moved to Shawnee in 1983 where they managed Kib Warren’s. Later, she owned and operated K&K styling, as well as K&K Aquariums. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and spent many years researching Genealogy. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Nell Aynes and Bill Sugg, two sisters, Claudia Avery and Glynell Kuhns, a nephew, Keith McHenry, her loving husband of 35 years, Forrest Best, as well as a granddaughter, Kristen Kay Best. Kay is survived by three children, daughter, Tami and Chuck Tade, daughter, Keli and Darrin Atwell, and son, Sean and Regina Best, five grandchildren, Stephanie and Garrett Billins, Lauren and Glen Ledgerwood, Garreth Atwell, Meghan and Tyler Rose, and Kayla and Tim Carr, six great-grandchildren, Addison Billins, Gunner Billins, Boston Ledgerwood, Forrest Ledgerwood, Sawyer Billins and Colton Carr, siblings, Mike and Sandy Sugg and Linda and George McHenry, and extended family, Glenn and J.J. Best, Pauletta Olea, Beverly Nelson, and JoAnn and John Miley.
