Kenneth Glen Collins, 70, passed away June 21, 2023 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He was born December 5, 1952 in Prague, Oklahoma to Gene Collins and Edna Deloris (Lynch) Collins. Ken graduated from Shawnee High School in 1971 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Eastern State in Wilburton, OK. He also attended Horse Shoeing School in 1983. For many years he Shooed horses and volunteered at the National Youth Finals Rodeo held in Shawnee from the 1st year and many years after, he arranged stalling and shoeing when needed. He also volunteered with FFA and judged events. He was an avid ball player being coached by his dad from pee wee ball through legion ball his senior year. He retired from ONG and contracted with OneOK. Kenny loved outdoor activities, horses, sports, family, welding, and building things for his home.
He was preceded in death by father, Gene Collins, son: Jeremy Collins, and wife: Rita Collins of 17 years.
Survivors include his mother: Edna Collins of Shawnee, brother: Mike Collins, sisters: Barbara Collins-Sovereign, and Carol Collins-Lindley, grandchildren: Tierney Collins, and Kason Collins, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, George Lupton and Jack Meyers (brothers of the heart).
A memorial service will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., July 8th, Walker Funeral Chapel.
