Kenneth Ray Wano, 61, of Shawnee died, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at a local hospital.Kenneth was born April 9, 1957 in Shawnee, to Eugene and Cora (Carter) Wano. Kenneth worked in construction doing mason work. He enjoyed fishing, he loved watching a good movie, and travelling. Kenneth travelled all over the U.S. going from coast to coast. He also truly enjoyed working, Kenneth had a great work ethic. He was a member of the Sac & Fox, as well as the Potawatomi. A member of the Potatoe Clan, his Indian name was WABUHGEEGWA. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.Kenneth’s parents; his sister, Connie Sue Robinson; his niece, Michelle “Peaches” Walker, and his great niece, Rayshaun Morrison, preceded him in death.He is survived by his brother, Ronnie Wano; his sister, Betty Wano; his brother-in-law, Jimmy Wayne Robinson; son Garrett Wano; daughter, April Holder; one granddaughter, Aurora Skenandore; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.Traditional tribal rites will be observed at the Patterson House, on Wednesday, October 10, with burial Thursday, October 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Wakolee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
