Kimberly "Kimmy" Denise (Payne) Freeman, age 60, of Shawnee, OK passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023.
She was a 1981 graduate of Dale High School and graduated from Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech in 1983. She then began her career as a Supply Technician at Tinker Air Force Base later that same year. While at Tinker, she met the love of her life, Kenneth Stanley Freeman. They married in November 1984 and had two children, Joshua Jerry Lee Freeman and Sarah Renee Freeman.
After her husband's passing in 2001, she continued her career at Tinker until her medical troubles forced her to retire in 2015. Kimmy faced mountains of medical issues her entire life. She proved doctors wrong right and left and had some choice words for them afterward for even THINKING of doubting her capabilities. She was, and always will be an inspiration to us all. She was an absolute WARRIOR.
Kimmy was preceded in death by her parents, Donna F. Sudduth (Starkey) and Samuel D. Payne, grandmother, Agnes I Starkey, her beloved Aunt Carole (Gigi) Starkey, brothers, Michael L. Wilson and Dennis Payne, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah and son-in-law, Matthew Smart, her son, Joshua and daughter-in-law, Amanda Freeman, grandchildren, Zoe STORM Walton, Sadie "Oryn" Raye Walton, Joshua Jerry Lee Freeman, Jr., and Asher Stanley Roy Wilkinson. She is also survived by sisters, Pamela Bartlett and Tracy Primrose, three nieces, Rachel "Nate" Bartlett, Kenzie Dillon and Maddison Primrose, one nephew, Kieler Payne, her stepmother, Barbara Barcklay and the strongest, dearest Dad in the world, Jerry D. Sudduth and his loving wife Patricia Sudduth.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 21, 2023, at McLoud First Baptist Church, 109 S 8th St, McLoud, OK 74851. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
Family and friends are welcome to visit the funeral home beforehand for viewing on July 19th and 20th, 8:00 am-6:00 pm. She will be at Walker Funeral and Cremation Service, 201 E 45th St, Shawnee, OK 74804.
