Laquata Carol Montgomery

Shawnee resident Laquata Montgomery, 72, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at her home. The family will gather for a private memorial, to be announced at a later date. Laquata was born February 16, 1950 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Morris Neal Montgomery and Allie Rae (Martin) Montgomery. She graduated from Shawnee High School and worked much of her life as a caregiver. In addition to being a caregiver, she worked for Canteen Vending serving T.D.K. and Mobil. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Laquata was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Virginia Jarvis and Nealene York, 1 brother: Joe Montgomery, 2 nephews, a niece and great niece. Survivors include her sister: Zella Jarvis of Meeker and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
