Lesley R. Drinkwater

Lesley R. Drinkwater, resident of Arizona, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Denton, Texas.

Lesley was born in Shawnee, OK on August 13, 1938 to Robert Leslie Roesch and Mary Mae (Musson) Roesch. She grew up in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School as part of the Class of 1956. She attended Oklahoma State University before moving to Mesa, Arizona.

Leslie was a lifetime animal lover who rescued every stray that crossed her path. She loved horses and horseback riding. She was a wonderful mother who was quite involved in all her children’s activities. Her neighbors could always count on her to watch after their homes, animals, and most importantly, their children.

Lesley was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Mary Roesch and three siblings who were stillborn.

Survivors include her son, Scott Drinkwater and wife Linda of Justin, TX, daughter, Robin Drinkwater and husband Neil Hyman of Wrightsville Beach, NC, son, Steve Drinkwater and wife Denise of Tijeras, NM, grandchildren, Colt Clarson, Cheyenne Carson, Kayla Echert, Kevin Schwoerer, Kendall Drinkwater, Nichole Drinkwater, Breana Drinkwater, Kelsey Medina, Isaac Medina, and Hunter Rogers, great-grandson, Levi Medina cousins, Martha Strickland and children of Birmingham, AL, Nancy Kell and children of Maryland, Bill Stubbs, Ginger and children of Kansas City, MO, and Bob Stubbs, Kim and children of Oklahoma City.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A graveside ceremony for Lesley will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery with Larry Sparks officiating.
