Levi Moody will be remembered for many remarkable accomplishments in a life well-lived, but none of them compare to his most important role as Daddy to his seven children. A consummate story-teller, Levi often entertained family and friends with true-life experiences about his children and their unique lives growing up in Seminole, Oklahoma. An afternoon or evening spent gathered together in a living room, with Levi in the center of it all, would be so full of laughter – to the point of tears and belly-aches - that you’d leave in a state of exhaustion, full of admiration for a man who clearly loved his children more than life itself. In addition to his strong family values, Levi was known to have an equally strong work ethic. The men who worked for him (including his own sons) often said that, after a job was over, they’d rather look for another job than try to keep up with Levi again. He could out-work them all – and they loved and respected him for it! In the early morning hours of May 20, 2017, Levi took his last breath. He is survived by five of his seven children – Linda Carol, Deborah Kay, Rhonda Lee, David Wayne and Karen Sue. Daniel Levi and Jeanetta Elaine, his other two children, are both deceased. Levi was one of five children: Two of his sisters, Mary and Martha, and his brother, Edward, are deceased. He is survived by his eldest sister, Alpha Omega (Onita). There will be countless stories to share in Levi’s memory for generations to come. He will forever be a hero to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren - as it should be … because he was living legend for all of his 86 years of life. Memorial services for Mr. Moody will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service.
