Lewis Jackson McCoy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 27, 2024 in his hometown of Shawnee, OK. Born on November 9, 1966, in Shawnee, Lewis grew up surrounded by love and laughter a family that cherished him dearly.
Known for his kind and caring nature, Lewis was a man who always went out of his way to help others. He had a warm heart and welcoming smile touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Lewis married Tina Porter on September 8, 1987 and they had five children together. Family was important to him and he loved them dearly.
Lewis had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting with family and friends. His love for the thrill of the hunt extended to coon hunting, deer hunting, and squirrel hunting. In quieter moments, he found joy in playing poker and watching classic shows like OU football, Sanford and Son, and M*A*S*H every night.
Lewis leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished by his surviving family. He is survived by his loving wife Tina McCoy, daughter Jayekay McCoy, sons Howard McCoy (fiancé Jackalyn Gunter), Eric McCoy, Dustin McCoy (wife April), Blake McCoy (wife Hazel), as well as 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson along with numerous nieces and nephews who brought immense joy to his life. Lewis is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Eva McCoy; sister Brenda Holmes; brother Bobby McCoy; and grandson baby Lewis.
The memories created with Lewis will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His impact on the lives he touched will continue to be felt for years to come.
Services to honor and celebrate Lewis's life will be held at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on May 31st for viewing from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place at Sharon Baptist Church on June 3rd at 1:00 PM.
