Lillian Louise Lewis

Lillian Louise Lewis, age 96, of Midland, Tx passed from this life on Monday, January 1, 2018. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 29, 1921 to the late Charles H and Lilly Mae (Johnson) Williams. Louise graduated from Shawnee High School in 1939. In 1949 she began a career in human resources and worked for Sylvania and the Oklahoma Employment Commission in Shawnee. After moving to Corpus Christi, Tx in 1966, she worked for the Texas State Employment Commission until her retirement in 1986.Louise loved laughing, gardening, music, singing, writing poetry and short stories. She loved her family, friends, and her pets. She loved life to the fullest and will be remembered for her ever-present smile. Those left to remember her are her son and daughter in law Nelson L. Lewis, Jr. and Gabriele of Fuquay Varina, NC; her two granddaughters and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her husband Nelson L. Lewis who was also from Shawnee, Ok.Memorial services will be held at Walkers Funeral Home, Shawnee, OK on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00am, officiated by Pastor Raymond Belford of the First Christian Church.
