Lillie Mae Franklin

Franklin, Lillie Mae, age 81, Shawnee resident passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her home. Private services are planned. Lillie was born on August 28, 1940 in Ada, Oklahoma to Elijah and Viola (Carpitcher) Walker. She grew up around Shawnee and attended school at the Chilocco school near Newkirk, Oklahoma. At Chilocco is where she met her husband Gaylon R. Franklin, Sr. Lillie was a kind hearted, fun loving soul with a pleasant disposition. Time spent with family and friends was most valuable to her. In the midst of visiting with others, the unmistakable sound of her laughter showed how much joy she received from others. Even her personal pursuits often benefited others as she was a skilled seamstress, gardener, and cook. Survivors include her children Gaylon Franklin, Jr. of Tulsa, Loretta Franklin and husband Wes Effinger of Oklahoma City, and Steven Franklin and wife Trista of Shawnee as well a numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Elijah and Viola Walker, husband Gaylon Franklin, Sr., and brother Robert Walker. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
